“The most miserable woman in Linh Khe village” received nearly 14 million VND in support

On the afternoon of January 28, leaders of Thanh Quang commune and the Women's Union of Thanh Quang commune (Nam Sach) visited and presented nearly 14 million VND and gifts donated by benefactors to Ms. Tran Thi Mai in Linh Khe village.

Previously, on January 23, Hai Duong Newspaper had an article "The most miserable woman in Linh Khe village"Written about the difficult situation of Mrs. Tran Thi Mai (89 years old) in Linh Khe village who is living in loneliness, poverty, and unsanitary conditions. Mrs. Mai used to have a husband and children, but now she is alone because of her unfortunate fate. Her father died early, she lives with her mother and a mute brother and sister. She married a man in the same Linh Khe village but not long after that, they broke up when they had 2 daughters. There is no news of these 2 children to this day.

The pitiful situation of Mrs. Mai in the article touched the hearts of many benefactors. From January 23 to 4:00 p.m. on January 28, 43 people donated a total of VND13,965,000 to Mrs. Mai, and a member of the Thanh Quang Commune Women's Union donated blankets, mattresses, and warm clothes worth more than VND1 million to her. A student, out of sympathy for Mrs. Mai's situation, also donated even though it was only VND15,000. The amount of money and gifts donated to Mrs. Mai was closely monitored, updated, and transparently updated by the Nam Sach District Women's Union and the Thanh Quang Commune Women's Union.
