Through practical work, officers and soldiers of the armed forces of Hai Duong province have done a good job in the military rear area, taking care of the lives of families of policy beneficiaries and people with revolutionary contributions.
Warm home teammates
On the day of the inauguration of the house of gratitude in early November, war invalid Pham The Thinh (74 years old) in Hoang Tan ward (Chi Linh city) was very happy and emotional. Mr. Thinh had participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country, and was injured and lost his right eye. Due to difficult economic conditions, Mr. Thinh and his wife lived for many years in a cramped, dilapidated level 4 house.
The Chi Linh City Military Command has connected and mobilized businesses to join hands to build a new house for Mr. Thinh's family. After more than 4 months of construction, the house was completed with a total area of over 80m2.2, the construction cost 300 million VND, of which Hoang Tien Joint Stock Company donated 80 million VND. Officers and employees of the Chi Linh City Armed Forces and local authorities supported construction days and donated many practical household items. "This house is my family's long-standing dream, giving us more motivation to improve our lives," Mr. Thinh shared.
According to the Provincial Military Command, in 2024 alone, agencies and units under the Provincial Military Command supported and connected to build 26 gratitude houses, solidarity houses, and comrade houses, the most ever.
Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Dinh Toan, Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee, Political Department, Provincial Military Command, said that agencies and units of the provincial armed forces have deployed this activity in conjunction with the program "Warm comradeship, joining hands to nurture green shoots", the emulation movement "The Army joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind"...
Each house of gratitude and comradeship built contributes to the good implementation of the military rear policy and is a meaningful work to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army on December 22.
Full of love
On the occasion of September 2nd, the Thanh Mien District Military Command coordinated with the Women's Union of Hong Quang Commune to organize a very meaningful "Meal with Heroic Vietnamese Mothers to Celebrate Independence Day" at the home of Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Ngach (109 years old). Mother Ngach has 2 sons who are martyrs, and are cared for by the district's armed forces. The simple meal with sincere and warm greetings helped Mother Ngach have more joy in life.
Currently, the Military Command of the districts is taking care of and supporting 6 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, regularly visiting, giving gifts, and transferring gifts from all levels.
Searching for and collecting martyrs’ remains is also one of the major issues in post-war policy work. With gratitude and respect, over the years, the army and people of Hai Duong have devoted themselves to searching for and bringing back the remains of many martyrs in the wars with the motto “as long as there is information about martyrs, we will continue to search and collect”.
From 2002 to early 2023, the Provincial Military Command directed specialized agencies to coordinate the review, separation, and disinfection of 1,690 martyrs' remains.
In 2024, the Provincial Military Command received, reviewed, supplemented, and standardized information on 178 martyrs from Hai Duong who were initially buried in Nghe An province. Up to now, Hai Duong province is assessed to have basically no more martyrs' remains in the area that have not been searched for and collected.
Along with caring for comrades and families of policy beneficiaries, with responsibility and heart, the Provincial Military Command has actively mobilized and called on officers and soldiers to join hands to support families in difficult circumstances, especially helping and supporting poor students to go to school. The agencies and units of the Provincial Military Command have sponsored 6 children in difficult circumstances, supporting each child with 500,000 VND/month until they finish primary school.
Colonel Ho Sy Quyen, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, said that the Provincial Military Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command always pay attention to and direct the Military Commands of districts, towns and cities to closely coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to effectively implement the military rear policy, take care of policy beneficiaries and people with meritorious services to the revolution, and identify it as an important and regular political task. Thanks to synchronous implementation and appropriate solutions, the above activities have been widely spread, in-depth, and increasingly effective.
Since the beginning of the year, the Provincial Military Command has coordinated to provide free medical examinations and medicine to 350 policy families and meritorious people, with a total value of 80 million VND. More than 1,000 officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces have donated to the 2024 "Repaying gratitude" Fund with an amount of more than 528 million VND.
