Arbitrarily driving the wrong way on Vo Van Kiet Avenue

Every day, especially during the afternoon rush hour, groups of motorbikes follow each other in the opposite direction on Vo Van Kiet Avenue, through Tan Hung ward and Gia Xuyen commune (Hai Duong city).

Many cars go in the opposite direction

In just 15 minutes, there were nearly 100 vehicles going in the wrong direction on both sides of Vo Van Kiet Avenue. Vehicles traveling from Thanh Lieu Street, Tan Hung Ward went in the wrong direction for nearly 100m to turn around to the Gia Xuyen Commune People's Committee road or continue to Provincial Road 391.

Many students, workers, laborers, farmers... disregard the danger, driving in the wrong direction to shorten the distance, much to the annoyance of other road users. Vehicles going in the right direction are forced to "give way" to the violators. In many situations, drivers have to brake suddenly and turn the wheel to avoid oncoming vehicles. Some people driving in the wrong direction also speed, do not wear helmets, talk on the phone, and honk to make way, causing frustration for other road users.

Cars also disregard the danger of going in the wrong direction.

Driving in the wrong direction not only violates the law and obstructs traffic, but also causes serious accidents.

According to Decree 100/2019/ND-CP of the Government, for the act of driving in the wrong direction on a one-way street: car drivers will be fined from 4-6 million VND and have their driving license revoked for 2-4 months; Motorcyclists are fined from 1-2 million VND and have their driving license revoked for 1-3 months...
