Nam Sach district has planted more than 2,100 hectares of winter crops, mainly onions and garlic, reaching over 80% of the plan, the fastest in the province. Ninh Giang district has only planted more than 250 hectares, reaching over 30% of the plan, the slowest in the province.
Due to favorable weather and a quick harvest of summer-autumn rice, farmers have accelerated the progress of winter crop planting this year. The provincial Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection has requested localities to expand the winter crop area, especially key crops such as carrots, onions, garlic, potatoes, leafy vegetables, etc. The entire province strives to exceed the planned winter crop area by 5-10%.
