On the night of August 22, heavy rain was recorded in the inner city of Hanoi. The heavy rain flooded many streets in Hanoi, causing difficulties for vehicles participating in traffic.
Previously, Hanoi had issued a warning about moderate to heavy rain. Specifically, from 10pm on August 22 to 1am on August 23, Hanoi's inner city and surrounding areas continued to have moderate to heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 20 - 50mm, with some places over 80mm.
This rain is likely to cause flooding for many inner-city streets, with a common depth of 15 - 25cm. Notably, some streets are likely to be flooded deeper, with a depth of 20 - 40cm.
The main points/streets warned of being at risk of flooding include: Thuy Khue (Chu Van An - Doc La Pho), Trich Sai in Tay Ho district; Doi Can, Lieu Giai, Ngoc Khanh, Cao Ba Quat in Ba Dinh district; Phan Boi Chau - Ly Thuong Kiet, Phung Hung, Bat Dan, Duong Thanh intersection in Hoan Kiem district; Nguyen Khuyen, Truong Chinh, Huynh Thuc Khang (Dong Da); Vuong Thua Vu, Quan Nhan, Nguyen Tuan, Nguyen Trai (Thanh Xuan); Minh Khai, Thanh Dam (Hai Ba Trung); Duong Dinh Nghe, Pham Hung, Ton That Thuyet, Nam Trung Yen, Hoa Bang (Cau Giay); Giai Phong, Tan Mai, Duong Hoang Mai, Nguyen Xien, Nguyen Duc Canh, Nguyen Chinh (Hoang Mai); Pham Van Dong street, Nhon station (Bac Tu Liem); My Dinh - Thien Hien intersection, Dai Lo Thang Long, Do Duc Duc, Tran Binh, My Dinh, My Dinh bus station (Nam Tu Liem); Ngoc Lam, Hoang Nhu Tiep, Ha Huy Tap (Long Bien); Mo Lao, Van Phu urban area, Le Trong Tan, Quang Trung - Phan Dinh Giot intersection, Yen Nghia bus station (Ha Dong).
