On October 20, Tay Ho District Police (Hanoi) said they were investigating a case in which a woman in the area lost nearly 3 billion VND after installing fake public service software.

Specifically, on October 15, Tay Ho District Police received a report from Ms. T. (born in 1981, in Tay Ho District) that she had received a phone call from someone impersonating a police officer, asking her to install fake public service software.

After the installation was completed, Ms. T. discovered that nearly 3 billion VND was missing from her bank account, so she went to the police to report it.

From the above incident, Hanoi City Police recommends that people be vigilant against the tricks of bad guys, and absolutely do not install software or applications as requested by strangers calling.

If you install fake software, you risk having your entire phone taken over. Messages and calls to the victim's phone will be controlled by the fake application, secretly transferred to a server managed by the subject, and will not be displayed on the victim's phone.

More dangerously, the subjects remotely take control of the mobile phone, then access the bank account and transfer all the victim's money.

When encountering cases showing signs of fraud, people need to promptly report to the police to prevent and handle them according to the provisions of the law.
