Noting some contents in teaching and reviewing work, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thanh - Director of the Department of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education and Training emphasized that schools need to pay attention to completing the program according to the plan for the 2023-2024 school year, classifying students' levels to organize appropriate reviews.

The 2024 high school graduation exam will remain stable as in 2023; in which, the exam content closely follows the high school program, mainly grade 12. The Director of the Department of Secondary Education noted that professional groups and teachers should proactively develop teaching and review plans suitable to the conditions of each school and group of students. Schools organize review sessions to ensure time, focusing on the requirements of knowledge and skills standards of the high school education program, mainly in the grade 12 program, focusing on helping students understand and apply knowledge.

After finishing the program, the review plan needs to strengthen guidance for students to self-study and self-review; arrange review time reasonably, not causing overload...

During the review process, teachers need to guide students to systematize their knowledge; practice question types and exercises according to the program requirements. However, teachers should not ask students to do too many exercises and exams of the same type; they just need to do a sufficient number, but cover all types of exercises corresponding to the program content requirements. From there, help students grasp the knowledge, be able to apply, compare, and clearly see the relationship between knowledge units. Teachers need to regularly check and evaluate to see what students are weak in so that they can promptly supplement.

Regarding the organization of high school graduation mock exams by localities, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thanh said that organizing mock graduation exams helps students get familiar with the exam and exam questions; at the same time, it is also a test of students' knowledge to have a review plan in the next stage. However, organizing exams should not be too frequent because on the one hand, it causes unnecessary pressure, on the other hand, if the mock exams do not ensure quality, the way the mock exams are organized or the students' motivation when taking the exam is not appropriate, it can lead to results that do not reflect their true abilities, negatively affecting students' review and preparation for the official exam.

The Ministry of Education and Training has announced the reference questions for the 2024 high school graduation exam. Teachers should deploy them to students to help them grasp the format, structure, and questions in the exam; let students try out the tests in the form of reference questions after each chapter and topic during the learning process.

Through the reference questions, students can distinguish questions at different levels; from there, they can have a review orientation and not be confused when entering the official exam. In addition, depending on the group of students, teachers can provide additional materials for reference and practice, but should not be too much, causing unnecessary overload.

The main materials for review are still textbooks and notebooks, question types, exercises, practice tests, etc. done during the study process; you need to rely on them to review each basic knowledge unit firmly.

Director of the Department of Secondary Education Nguyen Xuan Thanh noted that candidates need to review based on the knowledge of the 12th grade program and related knowledge of lower grades, continuing with the knowledge content of 12th grade.

With the guidance of teachers, students can use many different ways to systematize knowledge. For example, systematize basic knowledge by building an outline in the form of questions and answers, covering the content of the subject program or in the order of lessons, or by topic, type of lesson... Candidates can also systematize basic knowledge by creating a table or diagram to systematize knowledge, depending on which way is easy for them to remember.

Students need to make their own outlines, tables or diagrams to systematize their knowledge because while doing so, they will grasp the knowledge proactively and firmly. When doing the exercises, for each question and type of exercise, students must have a firm grasp of the knowledge and solution methods to apply to similar questions and exercises; before doing each question or exercise, they need to compare it with the questions and exercises they have done to check the similarities and differences.

Finally, students can practice the comprehensive tests, corresponding to the sample test structure of the Ministry of Education and Training with the same test time as the real test to gain experience in allocating time for the test.
