At around 10 p.m. on September 30, flash floods suddenly swept through four villages of Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district (Nghe An), fortunately causing no human casualties.
According to the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district, at that time, heavy rain occurred in the area, flash floods occurred in Khe Dua. The flash floods suddenly caught people in 4 villages along Khe Dua, including Dua, Minh Thanh, Minh Tien, and Cham Puong, off guard, many properties were swept away by the flood, fortunately there were no human casualties.
Currently, 4 villages are completely isolated due to landslides at the entrance of Dua village. The road to Ky Son is also experiencing serious landslides, with many points blocked.
Luong Minh Primary Boarding School (Minh Tien village) suffered heavy damage. Fortunately, at the time of the flash flood, the students were taken to safety by their teachers. Because the flood rose so quickly and suddenly, almost all of their clothes, books, and teaching materials were submerged in mud.
Immediately after the incident, Chairman of Tuong Duong District People's Committee Dinh Hong Vinh and the working group directly approached the scene and directed the recovery work that night. Currently, due to landslides on the roads, the working group is still stuck and cannot get out.
Heavy rains also caused landslides in many locations in Tuong Duong district. In Luu Kien commune, a large amount of water from streams rose high, causing landslides on National Highway 7A, from Khe Kien intersection to Pung village intersection. Soil, rocks and trees spilled onto the road, causing local traffic jams. The commune People's Committee coordinated with the Road Management Department to send forces to guard and ensure the safety of people and vehicles. By 5:00 a.m. on October 1, after mobilizing vehicles to level the road, the road was cleared for traffic.
In Pung village, heavy rain also caused landslides and rocks to fall on a household. The commune People's Committee promptly mobilized forces to evacuate property and encouraged the family to temporarily stay with nearby households to ensure safety.
In Xa Luong commune, the road leading to Na Be and Hop Thanh villages was eroded. The commune People's Committee mobilized people to repair the road to soon reopen it.
