Mind Battle, Run Away, Secret of the Golden Triangle... are films adapted from real-life "shocking" cases.
The film "Dua Tri" is expected to air on VTV1 from July 18, covering shocking cases such as the price hike of Covid-19 test kits that has caused public confusion; and the mysterious smuggling of hundreds of thousands of phones across the border. Director Nguyen Danh Dung said that this is a television work, not a documentary or reportage. Therefore, although it covers recent major economic cases such as Viet A, the film still has fictional details that create suspense and appeal.
The film Running from the Case is based on a true story in the novel of the same name by journalist Nguyen Nhu Phong. Running from the Case is based on the real case of Nguyen Hong Son (Tan) and many other prominent cases. Running from the Case truly reflects the dark corners of contemporary society such as embezzlement, adultery, addiction, gambling, etc. At the time of its release in 2006, the film quickly attracted audiences and continuously won a series of major awards after that such as: Golden Kite, gold medal in the television series category at the National Television Film Festival, Special Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
The Secret of the Golden Triangle is based on real events in a number of anti-drug smuggling cases in the Golden Triangle area. Throughout the film, there are intense battles of wits between the police forces of Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and multinational drug trafficking gangs. The script is based on famous real cases, including the Vu Xuan Truong case.
The film Sinh Tu exploits the story of how to do business under the guise of investing in land projects, in which the relationships are sensitive and complicated. Bribery, corruption, power-hungry... are all recreated in the film. When watching Sinh Tu, the audience can vaguely see the figures of corrupt bankers, those who fled abroad to escape punishment... Director Khai Hung said that the script is based on the important characters mentioned in the press.
