In 2024, the People's Committee of Kinh Mon town (Hai Duong) selected two breakthrough tasks: focusing on site clearance for key projects in the town and urban embellishment, restoring order in traffic safety corridors, ensuring criteria for a type III urban area.
The town is focusing on site clearance for projects: Kinh Mon River Overpass and the access road connecting the interchange with National Highway 5; construction of the road connecting Kinh Mon River Overpass with Provincial Road 389B; resettlement area project and new residential area of Thuong Quan, new residential area of Kim Loi (Bach Dang).
Kinh Mon town has achieved 55/63 criteria for a type III urban area, of which 34 criteria achieved the maximum score, 21 criteria achieved the average and minimum scores. The total score for the criteria for a type III urban area of Kinh Mon is 85.43/100 points. According to regulations, the minimum total score to be considered a type III urban area must be 75 points. Thus, Kinh Mon town has met the conditions to organize the preparation of a Project to propose recognition as a type III urban area.
Carrying out the second breakthrough task on urban areas, on January 15, the town simultaneously launched a campaign to clear and restore order in the traffic safety corridor, actively beautify the urban area, and strive to complete the proposal to recognize Kinh Mon as meeting the criteria for a type III urban area in February 2024, submit to competent authorities for approval and complete the dossier, and welcome the appraisal delegation of the Ministry of Construction to appraise the criteria for a type III urban area in June 2024.
