The People's Committee of Hai Duong province has just assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, relevant departments, branches and localities to inspect the compliance with environmental protection laws for livestock farms in the province.

Based on the results of the inspection and assessment, advise the Provincial People's Committee on management solutions and treatment plans in accordance with current environmental protection laws. Report the implementation results to the Provincial People's Committee before December 31, 2023.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment plans to inspect the compliance with environmental protection regulations for 15 large-scale livestock farms in the province. Of which, Kinh Mon town and Binh Giang district will each have 3 farms; Chi Linh city, Hai Duong city, and Cam Giang district will each have 2 farms; and Tu Ky, Ninh Giang, and Nam Sach districts will each have 1 farm.

Recently, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to review livestock farms in the province. Through the review, the province has nearly 700 livestock and poultry farms (mainly poultry farms). Recently, the management and treatment of waste from livestock farms has not been ensured, and the discharge of wastewater has affected the environment. People in many places have made recommendations and complaints about this situation.
