No more crowded scenes, tourists leisurely worship at Bai Dinh Pagoda festival

On the morning of February 15 (the 6th day of the Lunar New Year 2024), thousands of people came to Bai Dinh Pagoda (Gia Sinh Commune, Gia Vien District, Ninh Binh) to attend the opening ceremony and worship Buddha.

The Bai Dinh Pagoda Festival officially opens on the 6th of January and lasts until the end of the 3rd lunar month every year. The ancient Bai Dinh Pagoda was built thousands of years ago and is one of the famous landmarks of the ancient capital. Despite the ups and downs of history, the ancient Bai Dinh Pagoda is still respected and preserved by monks, nuns, Buddhists and people to this day.

From early morning, thousands of monks, nuns, Buddhists and tourists flocked to Bai Dinh Pagoda to attend the festival, worship Buddha, and pray for a new year of peace, prosperity, national peace and people's well-being, and favorable weather.

Representatives of the management board of Tam Chuc tourist area and Bai Dinh pagoda (Ninh Binh province) said that on the opening day of the festival, it is expected that more than 10,000 people will come to the festival, worship and pay homage to Buddha.

This is the 10th year that the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Ninh Binh province has organized the opening ceremony of Bai Dinh Pagoda since the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, where Bai Dinh Pagoda is located, was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage.
