Prosecution of man who beat security guard on Nguyen Hue walking street when he was told not to let his dog loose

On March 8, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department announced that it had prosecuted and temporarily detained Tuong Chi Huy (born in 1999, residing in District 8) to investigate the crime of "intentionally causing injury". Huy is the one who injured a security guard on Nguyen Hue walking street (District 1) because he... "defended his girlfriend's dog".

Previously, at around 9:15 a.m. on February 27, Huy was walking with his girlfriend named PEKL (born in 1993, American nationality, residing in Binh Thanh district) to the area behind kilometer 16T of Nguyen Hue walking street when the dog in PEKL's hand jumped to the ground and ran around.

At this time, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Chinh (born in 1967, living in Binh Tan district), a security guard at Nguyen Hue walking street, came to remind and used a stick (made of plastic) to hit the dog's head, but was scolded and hit back by Ms. PEKL.

Seeing that, Huy walked over and pushed Mr. Chinh. Mr. Chinh ran to a nearby tree bed, took an iron rod and went to Huy to threaten him. During the scuffle, Huy grabbed the iron rod and hit Mr. Chinh in the head, causing injury. He fell to the ground and lost consciousness.

The incident happened right on Nguyen Hue walking street - the city center, so it attracted many people to witness and record the fight, posting it on social networks, causing public outrage...

Upon receiving information about the incident, Ben Nghe Ward Police quickly arrived at the scene with local residents to take the security guard to Gia Dinh Hospital for emergency treatment, with injuries to his head and hands. Afterwards, Ben Nghe Ward Police also brought the people involved in the investigation.

According to the verification of the Police Agency, Tuong Chi Huy has a previous conviction for "Robbery".
