On the morning of November 11, the smart city north of Hanoi officially began construction with an investment scale of nearly 4.2 billion USD, using about 272 hectares of land.

The smart city north of Hanoi is invested by BRG Group in cooperation with partner Sumitomo Corporation with the desire to form a modern city with leading utilities in Asia.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony of the implementation of the smart city project in the north of Hanoi, Mr. Duong Duc Tuan, Vice Chairman of Hanoi City, said that according to the planning of the smart city in the north of Hanoi, 6 basic elements of smartness will be applied, including: smart energy, smart mobility, smart life, smart management, smart health and learning, and smart economy.
The highlight of the smart city is the 108-storey financial tower, which has been researched and designed by Vietnamese and Japanese investors to be modern, harmonious and sustainable on the basis of smart technology, a green city, energy saving, and environmentally friendly according to Japan's development and management experience, Mr. Tuan added.
The smart city model in the north of Hanoi is expected to solve major problems in the capital's urban infrastructure such as transportation, energy, education, healthcare, and environment.
According to the investor's plan, the smart city project north of Hanoi will be implemented in 5 phases.
Phase 1: land use scale of 72.7 hectares, implemented from Q4/2023 to Q4/2028; Phase 2: land use scale of 67.5 hectares, implemented from Q1/2024 to Q4/2028; Phase 3: land use scale of 65.7 hectares, implemented from Q1/2024 to Q4/2029; Phase 4: land use scale of 30.1 hectares, implemented from Q1/2024 to Q4/2030; Phase 5: land use scale of 35.2 hectares, implemented from Q4/2023 to Q4/2032.
The investor representative said that after completion, the smart city north of Hanoi will create housing and work for more than 200,000 urban residents.
