On the morning of September 29, at the historical and cultural relic site of Ngu Dai Pagoda (Hoang Tien Ward, Chi Linh, Hai Duong), a ceremony was held to receive sponsorship and start the renovation and embellishment of the pagoda's gate and bell tower.
Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Permanent Vice President of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha attended.
The three-door gate was built with an area of over 80 m2 including 3 walkways, the bell tower has an area of over 130 m2, square plan, 8-roof overlapping architecture, truss structure made of ironwood, base and steps made of green stone.
The construction items are built in harmony, in accordance with traditional architecture, suitable for the general landscape space; is the premise for the restoration and embellishment of the next items of the relic site to match the scale and stature of this place. From there, connecting with key relics of Con Son, Kiep Bac, Thanh Mai Pagoda, Chu Van An Teacher Temple in Chi Linh and relics in Hai Phong City, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang provinces. Creating unique tourism products, contributing to the socio-economic development of Hai Duong province in general, Chi Linh city in particular.
Ngu Dai Pagoda is an ancient relic, holding an important position in the Truc Lam Zen Buddhist sect.
Archaeological excavations in this area have revealed architectural traces with many foundation levels, types of building materials, household ceramics and worship objects from periods spanning from the Tran Dynasty in the 14th century, the Le Trung Hung Dynasty in the 17th and 18th centuries and the Nguyen Dynasty in the 19th and 20th centuries.
This result has materially confirmed the construction process of Ngu Dai Pagoda from the Tran Dynasty and its continuous use and restoration.
