At the regular meeting of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee in July (4th time) on the afternoon of July 31, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung concluded and agreed with the content of the report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the restoration and embellishment of Ngu Dai Pagoda in Hoang Tien Ward (Chi Linh). Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate in marking the project boundary. For items that require the use of forest land, it is recommended to include them in phase 2 to ensure time and speed up progress. Assign relevant departments, branches and sectors and the People's Committee of Chi Linh City to proactively coordinate, guide and support the investor to complete the project dossier for the restoration and embellishment of Ngu Dai Pagoda (phase 1), complete the feasibility study report and send it to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism before August 8. The project investor (the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha) prepares the project dossier for appraisal and submission for approval in accordance with the provisions of law.

According to the report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ngu Dai Pagoda was ranked as a provincial-level relic according to Decision No. 629/QD-UBND dated February 7, 2005 of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province. The results of the archaeological excavation in 2019 - 2020 discovered architectural foundations and artifacts from the Tran Dynasty (13th and 14th centuries), the Later Le Dynasty (17th and 18th centuries) and lasting until the 19th century. This is an ancient and famous site, playing an important role and position in Truc Lam Buddhism. Over time, many construction items of the relic have been destroyed, the scale of the relic is not commensurate with its inherent value in history. Therefore, the restoration, embellishment and reconstruction of Ngu Dai Pagoda to preserve and promote the value of the relic is necessary, meeting the aspirations of the people. The restoration and embellishment project of Ngu Dai Pagoda (phase 1) includes 11 main items and 4 auxiliary items. The project investment is funded by social resources and ensures the principle that the items of works to be restored and embellished are within the protected area of the relic; in accordance with local land use plans and plans; inheriting the results of archaeological excavations and the instructions of the provincial People's Committee leaders...
