When doctors in Hai Duong love sports

In recent times, the health sector's sports and physical training movement in Hai Duong has received attention and development, contributing to improving health and cultural and spiritual life for health workers.

The Provincial Center for Disease Control has 130 union members. Over the years, the sports movement has always received attention from the unit's leaders. As an administrative unit, the main source of funding is subsidized, but sports activities here are quite developed. Every time after work, the center's staff spends time practicing badminton.

Many officers and employees of the center contributed money to buy training equipment. From several factors, up to now, the Provincial Center for Disease Control has established a badminton club with nearly 30 participants. Not only men but also many women spend time practicing. Thanks to investing in proper equipment and regular practice, the Provincial Center for Disease Control currently has the strongest badminton movement in the health sector. In badminton tournaments organized by the Department of Health, the unit has always achieved high results. Not only badminton, the Provincial Center for Disease Control also pays attention to developing table tennis; actively organizing folk dance competitions for all members of 10 affiliated departments and offices to participate...

The physical education and sports movement at Tu Ky District Medical Center is equally exciting. Master, Doctor Nguyen Thi Mai Ly, Deputy Director, Chairwoman of the Center's Trade Union, said that the sports prioritized for practice and competition are badminton, volleyball, and soccer. To develop the movement, the Center's Trade Union actively proposed that the leadership create conditions for staff and employees to have time to participate. The Center invests in facilities, equipment, training grounds, etc. for doctors, nurses, and medical staff to practice sports and improve their health after work.

In 2023, Tu Ky District Medical Center established a Women's Volleyball Club. Thanks to material investment and encouragement from the unit's leaders, the unit's women's volleyball has developed strongly. Many members of the club have high skills such as Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Anh, Tran Thi Giang... In 2024, the Women's Volleyball Club of Tu Ky District Medical Center won first prize in the women's volleyball competition for civil servants, public employees, and workers in Hai Duong province for the second time. In 2024, the Center won second prize for the entire delegation in the competitions: tug of war, badminton, and table tennis of the health sector.

Nam Sach District Medical Center has also established many clubs such as: table tennis, folk dancing, jogging... The unit has spent money to buy table tennis, upgrade the sports training area, buy more training equipment... Currently, the unit's sports clubs have 40-50 people regularly participating.

Thanks to the spread and development of the physical exercise and sports movement, at the 2nd "For Vietnam's Health" Running Race, stage 2 held from June 4-24, the Hai Duong province health sector had 15 individuals and 21 groups awarded by the Organizing Committee. The Hai Duong health sector's trade union won the C prize, 3 individuals in the top 5 leaders include: Bui Thu Phuong (Traditional Medicine Hospital), Nguyen Thi Phuong (Nguyen Trai Ward Health Station, Hai Duong City Health Center) and Pham Van Hung (Chairman of the Nam Sach District Health Center Trade Union).

Chairwoman of the Hai Duong Health Sector Trade Union Nguyen Thi Binh said that the health sector’s sports and physical training movement has received great attention from the sector’s leaders and units. Every year, the health sector organizes sports competitions focusing on badminton, table tennis, tug of war, football, etc. Many grassroots trade unions organize sports competitions on anniversaries or on holidays, Tet, etc. Sports activities contribute to creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere, improving health, and enhancing the cultural and spiritual life of health workers.
