The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) is expected to announce the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam on July 17.
Specifically, at exactly 8:00 a.m. on July 17, the Ministry of Education and Training will announce the graduation exam scores from the Ministry’s end or in 63 provinces and cities across the country. After the results are available, the provinces will consider recognizing the candidates’ graduation, and universities and colleges will use these results for enrollment.
The 2024 high school graduation exam will take place on June 27-28. Candidates will take four exams including literature, math, foreign language, and a combination of natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology) or social sciences (history, geography, civics).
At the press conference to conclude the 2024 high school graduation exam, the Ministry of Education and Training said that this is the final exam of the 2006 education program, so the number of candidates increased compared to last year with 1,071,393 candidates. Of which, the number of candidates registering online was 1,014,020, accounting for 94.66% of the total number of candidates; the number of candidates registering directly was 57,373, accounting for 5.34%. The total number of independent candidates was 46,978, accounting for 4.38%.
This year, 30 candidates nationwide violated exam regulations, of which 26 were suspended from the exam. Among the subjects, biology had the highest percentage of candidates taking the exam, reaching 99.75%. Civic education had the lowest percentage of candidates taking the exam, reaching only 95.06% of the registered candidates.
The most notable point is that information about the literature exam was leaked and spread on social networks before the exam day. However, the Ministry of Education and Training affirmed that the fact that someone guessed the work was "random" and the exam was kept absolutely confidential.
The Ministry of Education and Training assessed that the 2024 high school graduation exam took place in favorable weather conditions across the country. The organization of the exam at all exam locations ensured safety, seriousness, and on schedule, meeting the requirements for a compact and practical exam.
