On August 10, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi sent a message to neighboring countries Iran and Israel, warning that the country will not allow any country to violate its airspace and endanger the safety of its people.

In an interview with Saudi Arabia's Al Arabiya television channel, Safadi said Jordan "is not a battlefield for Iran or Israel" and that the country has informed both neighboring countries that it will "not allow anyone to violate its airspace" and endanger the safety of its people. Jordan will intercept "anything" that flies over its national airspace, Safadi said.

Previously, in April, Jordan intercepted flying objects that violated its airspace, after Iran launched drones and missiles at Israel in retaliation for an airstrike on the Iranian Consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus, which Tehran said was carried out by Tel Aviv.

Tensions in the Middle East are currently reaching a boiling point ahead of a potential Iranian attack following the assassination of two senior Hamas and Hezbollah officials.

Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in an airstrike early on July 31 in the capital Tehran, after attending the inauguration of the new Iranian President.

Meanwhile, Fuad Shukr - Hezbollah's top military commander and right-hand man of leader Hassan Nasrallah - died in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon's capital Beirut on the night of July 30 in retaliation for the previous attack in the Golan Heights.

In Gaza, the nearly 10-month conflict between Israel and Hamas has left about 40,000 people dead. On the Israeli side, 1,400 people have also lost their lives.

Meanwhile, the almost daily fighting between Israel and Hezbollah has so far claimed the lives of 530 people in Lebanon and 47 in Israel. The tense developments continue to send dangerous warnings to this region that has never stopped firing.
