Istanbul - A friendly destination for solo travelers

Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey, is not only special because it lies on both sides of Europe and Asia, but is also a land of cultural, religious and culinary intersection.

A recent survey found that Istanbul is one of the most attractive destinations for solo travelers.

Istanbul is ranked third in the "top 20 cities in Europe for solo travelers" in 2023, according to a list released this month by Hungary-based airline Wizz Air based on reviews from the world's largest travel website Tripadvisor.

Istanbul has an excellent rating of 67% from travelers, giving it a 5-star rating. In particular, restaurants in the city have received an excellent rating of 71%.

Hamit Kuk, a leading advisor to the President of the Turkish Travel Agencies Association, stressed that hospitality is one of the outstanding features that attract international tourists to the country.

Turks do not care about the background, race or religion of tourists and always welcome them with warmth. Hospitality has created a culture of high-quality service in Türkiye.

Istanbul is the most visited city in the country by foreign tourists, with 16 million tourists in the first 11 months of 2023, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute.
