Greek authorities announced that they had recently discovered and foiled a terrorist attack plot carried out by four Greek citizens.
According to Greek Citizen Protection Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis, the four suspects are suspected of participating in a domestic terrorist organization.
According to Minister Chrysochoidis, a bomb was detonated ahead of schedule in an apartment in central Athens on October 31, killing one person, injuring another and causing serious material damage to the building.
Speaking to reporters, Minister Chrysochoidis said: "If not detonated soon, this bomb would certainly cause great devastation to any target this group aimed at."
According to police investigation results, the deceased victim was a 36-year-old man, while a 33-year-old woman is being treated in hospital.
The other two, a 31-year-old man arrested last week and his girlfriend, arrested on November 4, were members of a group of Greek citizens "who aspired to become the next generation of homegrown terrorists."
The suspects have now been charged with joining and forming a terrorist group, possessing explosives, making bombs and engaging in terrorist acts.
