Hungarian authorities will increase security at schools and quickly investigate the source of bomb threat calls.
On the morning of January 23, about 30 schools in Budapest and neighboring areas of Hungary were evacuated due to bomb threat calls.
Hungarian media reported that Prime Minister Viktor Orban had contacted the Interior Minister directly about the threatening calls.
The Hungarian leader said the country's authorities would increase security at schools and quickly investigate the source of the calls.
According to the head of the Hungarian Prime Minister's Office, Gergely Gulyas, as many as 29 schools in Budapest and one school in Hodmezovasarhely received threatening calls early in the morning. All schools received the same content: threats of revenge.
Up to this point, Hungarian authorities have not found any bombs as threatened.
