Xuyen Viet Cooperative earns nearly 7 billion VND in profit from fish cake production project

According to the Xuyen Viet Seafood Production and Trading Cooperative, from August 5, 2023 to February 3, 2024, the unit produced nearly 255 tons of fish cakes, of which nearly 202 tons were round balls and the rest were flat cakes, exceeding the plan by nearly 55 tons. The cooperative used over 622 tons of tilapia as input material. After deducting expenses, the unit earned nearly 7 billion VND in profit.

In addition to economic efficiency, the project creates jobs for about 20 workers with an income of 7-8 million VND/person/month. Through this, 12 technicians are trained to be able to skillfully apply and master high-quality fish cake production technology. The production environment at the facility is also improved when by-products from fish cake production are used as raw materials for fish farming, creating a closed, friendly model, limiting waste affecting the living environment, and completely solving the environmental pollution situation in seafood processing facilities.

That is the effectiveness of the Project "Processing some value-added products from tilapia using biotechnology in Hai Duong" under the "Program to support the application and transfer of scientific and technological advances to promote socio-economic development in rural, mountainous and ethnic minority areas in the period 2016 - 2025" of the Ministry of Science and Technology, implemented by the Xuyen Viet Aquatic Production and Trade Cooperative (Gia Loc).
