Ultima Hora newspaper (Spain) reported on August 7 that a judge returned the passports to two Vietnamese artists accused of raping a minor in Andratx, Majorca island - Spain.
According to Ultima Hora newspaper, the Palma Court - which investigated the accusation that two Vietnamese artists raped a 17-year-old girl in a hotel in Andratx at the end of June this year - has decided to return the passports to these two people and they can return to their country.
After their arrest, both artists - a musician and a famous actor - refused to give evidence in court. They were released but not allowed to leave Majorca.
A court in Spain confiscated the passports of two Vietnamese artists in late June.
Ultima Hora said the incident occurred on June 25. Two Vietnamese artists staying at a hotel in Sant Elm met the young woman (who stayed at another hotel) in a nearby restaurant. They started chatting and drinking together. A few minutes later, all three walked on the beach and then went to one of the artists' room, where the young woman alleged she was raped.
The woman told police that the two men, aged 37 and 42, forced her to have sex and then took her to the bathroom to wash off the fluids on her body. The victim is a British national. Hours after the rape, she and her family left Majorca.
The two Vietnamese artists were quickly arrested and taken to court and had their passports confiscated, but they exercised their right to remain silent.
