Over 12.6 billion VND in support of Tet gifts and the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Hai Duong

On the afternoon of January 13, the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Duong province launched a campaign to give gifts to poor and near-poor households on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025 and support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.

Comrade Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation attended and directed the conference.

Also attending were: Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Thi Ngoc Bich, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Quan, representatives of relevant departments, branches and sectors of the province and a number of enterprises.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, acknowledged the great contributions of the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and its member organizations, the business community, and philanthropists to social security work. Despite many difficulties in production and business, with the spirit of "loving others as you love yourself", businesses and philanthropists still join hands and contribute to social security programs, helping the poor and people in difficult circumstances in the province.

Despite many efforts, Hai Duong still has many people in difficult circumstances, especially those affected by natural disasters, epidemics, serious illnesses, disabilities, etc. They need the help of the whole community. Through review, by the end of 2024, the whole province still has 6,287 poor households, 8,521 near-poor households and many lonely elderly people with no place to rely on, orphans. Among them, many people have difficulty escaping poverty because they are no longer able to work or are unable to work.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Van Hieu requested agencies, units, philanthropists and the entire political system to participate in responding, supporting and giving Tet gifts to poor and near-poor households, ensuring that all Hai Duong people can celebrate Tet. All Tet gifts from agencies, organizations, units and businesses will be delivered to the right recipients.

On this occasion, Mr. Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, requested all levels, sectors, enterprises and people to actively respond to the emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Prime Minister; join hands and contribute efforts with Party committees and authorities at all levels to support and help families with housing difficulties to build and repair houses, and complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province according to plan.

At the conference, 19 agencies and enterprises registered to donate a total amount of more than 12.6 billion VND. Of which, Hai Duong Provincial Police supported the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses with 3.6 billion VND. The remaining 9 billion VND with nearly 13,000 Tet gifts will be given to poor and near-poor households. Many units registered to donate Tet gifts such as: Vietnam National Petroleum Group registered to donate 2,000 gifts worth 2 billion VND, Thien Tam Fund (VinGroup Corporation) registered to donate 2,500 gifts worth 1.5 billion VND, Hai Duong Provincial Youth Union registered to donate 4 houses, 2 libraries and 2,250 gifts worth more than 1.1 billion VND; Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Hai Duong branch registered to donate 1,900 gifts worth 950 million VND...
