For Tet 2025, the entire Red Cross system aims to give 1.2 million gifts to the poor and people in difficult circumstances, worth 700 billion VND.
The above information was announced by Ms. Bui Thi Hoa, President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society at the opening ceremony of the "Humanitarian Power 2024" program and the launching ceremony of the "Humanitarian Tet - Spring At Ty 2025" movement, held on November 23.
The "Humanitarian Power 2024" program is an annual event of the Vietnam Red Cross Society to honor domestic and foreign partners who have contributed to humanitarian activities and the Red Cross movement in the past year. Thereby, spreading the movement "Good people, good deeds - Joining hands to build a compassionate community", multiplying noble deeds in the community; at the same time, mobilizing resources to care for people in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the Spring of At Ty 2025.
This year, the Vietnam Red Cross Society organizes the "Humanitarian Power" Program on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (November 23, 1946 - November 23, 2024).
At the program, the launching ceremony of the movement "Humane Tet - Spring At Ty 2025" and the campaign "Millions of compassionate footsteps - Continuing the golden history" took place.
With “Humane Tet - Spring At Ty 2025”, the entire association system strives to care for and support 1.2 million poor people, people in difficult circumstances, and vulnerable people with a total value of 700 billion VND. The implementation period of the activities is from January 7-26, 2025 (ie December 8-27 of the lunar calendar); in which, the peak is from January 14-23, 2025 (ie December 15-24 of the lunar calendar).
Beneficiaries include poor households, near-poor households, households in difficult circumstances, households with people infected with Agent Orange, people with disabilities, patients in difficult circumstances, households affected by natural disasters in 2024, especially in the northern localities heavily affected by storm No. 3; other vulnerable groups; people who do not have the conditions to enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet with their families due to their lonely and difficult circumstances...
Ms. Hoa emphasized that generations of Red Cross officials, members, volunteers and humanitarian workers have made many proud contributions and continue to adhere to the principles that create the association's values such as humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntariness, unity and globality.
Each noble gesture, each charitable step contributing to the Campaign "Millions of charitable steps - Continuing the golden history" will bring joy and hope to millions of poor people and people in difficult circumstances to celebrate Tet more fully and completely; at the same time, spreading the volunteer sports movement widely.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, nearly 600 delegates, officials, members, volunteers of the Hanoi Red Cross Society and students of Hanoi University of Science and Technology walked to respond to the campaign.
The campaign is deployed on the online sports platform vRace, taking place from November 23, 2024 - April 28, 2025 with the goal of attracting 200,000 people to walk/run, reach 5 million km and donate 5 billion VND.
Participants can register via the website https://vrace.com.vn/race/trieu-buoc-chan-nhan-ai or on the vRace app, record their sports journey and share with the community.
The campaign is not only a sports activity but also an opportunity for each individual and organization to retell the heroic historical story of the nation and spread the spirit of solidarity, patriotism and peace in the community...
Following the "Humanitarian Power" Program, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society organized the 2024 Partner Meeting program with the theme "Entrepreneurs - Humanitarian Rendezvous" to strengthen and expand cooperative relations with business partners, creating a close, warm and sincere relationship.
The Vietnam Red Cross Society wishes to accompany businesses, be proactive and creative in spreading the spirit of humanity; at the same time, open up new cooperation opportunities. This is also an opportunity for partners to exchange and share success stories in humanitarian work, contributing to enhancing cohesion and deepening the meaning of the association's coordinated programs in humanitarian activities.
Within the framework of the 2024 “Humanitarian Power” Program, the photo exhibition “75 years of the Geneva Conventions - A set of rules that we all agree on” took place with 50 photos realistically and vividly depicting the activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies of countries, including Vietnam, implementing the Geneva Conventions.
