On the afternoon of October 9, 2024, Nhan Dan Newspaper held the opening ceremony of the interactive exhibition“Hanoi Flagpole”and introduce a special supplement to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.
Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the army marching towards Hanoi using mixed reality technology. This experience will recreate 10 important milestones in the process of liberating and taking over the capital in October 1954.
Tech-savvy travelers can use augmented reality (AR) glasses to view 3D images of Hanoi.
Using a device integrated with 2 50Mp cameras, the Organizing Committee captured and recorded 3D space videos at Full HD resolution of many locations in the Capital such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda, Hanoi Flag Tower, Long Bien Bridge, Opera House, 5 Hanoi gates...
Users have the opportunity to experience these images in three-dimensional space, just like viewing scenic spots with the naked eye.
In addition, Nhan Dan Newspaper also launched the project “Each person, a piece of the puzzle”. Readers sent in personal photos to be combined into a large photo of Hanoi Flag Tower. Readers will use the provided code to find the location of their photo in the large photo published on October 10.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association said: "On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), Nhan Dan Newspaper has organized a special information campaign with elaborate, methodical, and thorough preparation for nearly half a year, starting with the launch of the In-depth Knowledge page about Hanoi".

The highlight of the special information campaign commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital is the daily supplement of Nhan Dan Newspaper on October 10, 2024 with the theme "Hanoi Flag Tower". The special supplement includes a page of content about the Hanoi Flag Tower and a page of cut and paste models. Readers can cut and paste the printed newspaper page into a model of the Hanoi Flag Tower and interact with the model through 3 QR codes. Each QR code will provide extended content and lead to other interesting projects in the ecosystem of Nhan Dan Newspaper.
