"Fever" of special printed newspaper publications

On the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), Nhan Dan Newspaper published a special issue on May 7, 2024 with 8 additional pages of information, including 4 pages printing the entire panorama of the "Dien Bien Phu Campaign", 4 pages summarizing the progress of 56 days and nights of the campaign in diary form in Vietnamese and English.

Readers can cut and combine them into a 3.21m-long panorama (a record for a printed newspaper) and interact with the picture through augmented reality (AR) technology or scan QR codes to read additional information. AR technology allows users to view a dynamic panorama in physical space.

Immediately after its release, the issue of Nhan Dan newspaper on May 7, 2024 created a "fever", printed newspaper stands were "sold out" since morning, thousands of young people of Gen Z tried every way to "hunt" for the special newspaper for many days.

When the Nhà cua Lá account boasted of finding 3-4 issues of the newspaper on social networks, many young people begged to buy them back: "Hey, can you share the good and the bad?"

Also hoping to get the special issue of Nhan Dan, Ms. Nguyen Huyen (a resident of Dien Bien Phu city) whose two sons are in primary and preschool in the city went to all the bookstores to buy it, but could not find it. Ms. Nguyen Huyen texted a reporter from Nhan Dan Newspaper in Dien Bien province, asking to buy her a copy of Nhan Dan Newspaper with a panorama of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.

After 10 days of launching, thousands of readers still sent letters to the editorial office, via the fanpage, wishing for a special supplement on May 7. From socialized sources, Nhan Dan Newspaper decided to publish an additional 100,000 copies of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign Panorama supplement to give to readers nationwide.
