The nomination dossier meeting the formal requirements is an important step in the journey for Hai Duong's Con Son - Kiep Bac to become a world heritage site.

On this occasion, the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO also requested the People's Committees of the three provinces of Hai Duong, Quang Ninh and Bac Giang to provide relevant information as requested by the World Heritage Center and prepare conditions to welcome the ICOMOS expert delegation for appraisal, demonstrating Vietnam's active role as a UNESCO member.

ICOMOS is an independent advisory body. After its assessment, it will make recommendations (if any) for the application.

It will be a long way to go for the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiep Bac relic and landscape complex to become a world heritage site. However, the letter sent by the Director of the Lazare Eloundou Assomo World Heritage Center to the People's Committees of Hai Duong, Quang Ninh and Bac Giang provinces announcing that the nomination dossier meets the formal requirements is an important step forward in this journey.
