According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), about 40 rockets were fired from Lebanon into the central Golan Heights. Some of the rockets were confirmed to have landed in the area.

Meanwhile, the Golan Regional Council has warned people in the northern part of the plateau to stay away from shelters and avoid gatherings until further notice.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was in retaliation for an Israeli airstrike earlier in the day near the Syrian-Lebanese border that killed a former bodyguard of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

In another related development, Lebanese military sources said the country's army monitored the launch of about 100 surface-to-surface missiles from Lebanon towards Israel and that Israel's "Iron Dome" missile system intercepted some of them.

Israeli drones and warplanes carried out five airstrikes on three towns and villages in southern Lebanon, the sources added. In addition, the army also shelled 12 other towns and villages in Lebanon, injuring four people.
