Hai Duong exceeded the target of hospital beds per 10,000 people right from the first months of 2025.
According to the Hai Duong Department of Health, by early March, the province had 6,744 hospital beds at medical facilities (excluding health stations), reaching a rate of 34.1 hospital beds per 10,000 people. Meanwhile, the province's target for 2025 is 33.8 hospital beds per 10,000 people. This is one of the 15 socio-economic development targets set by the province in 2025.
The number of hospital beds increased because some medical facilities, after being assessed, ensured the conditions for increasing standard hospital beds to meet the demand for medical examination and treatment. The province strives to achieve the target of 40.5 hospital beds per 10,000 people by 2030. To achieve this target, the province still lacks about 1,500 hospital beds.
Hai Duong is attracting investment in three hospital construction projects in Hai Duong City and Chi Linh with a total scale of about 1,930 beds. When these projects are implemented, the province will achieve the target of number of hospital beds per 10,000 people and the rate of private hospital beds accounting for 15% of the total number of hospital beds.
