The urban subdivision planning of Soc Son area one, scale 1/2000, with a scale of nearly 630 hectares, was approved by the Hanoi People's Committee. This urban subdivision belongs to the administrative boundaries of Tien Duoc, Mai Dinh, Phu Linh communes and Soc Son town, with an estimated population of about 49,560 people by 2030.

The planned urban area will be the place for urban administrative development, squares, parks, financial and service commercial centers and other entertainment and recreation facilities.

The planning project analyzes the natural conditions, current status and general planning of Soc Son related to urban subdivision. It determines the boundaries, area, land scale, population and land use indicators, social and urban infrastructure.

During the process of urban development, local authorities are responsible for protecting national defense and security areas, cultural relics, and special natural landscapes such as protective forests and regulating lakes.

Over the past two years, Hanoi City has successively issued decisions approving the planning tasks of 7 urban subdivisions of Soc Son, at a scale of 1/2000.

In July 2023, Hanoi City approved the planning task of two other urban subdivisions of Soc Son, Zone 3 and 7, at a scale of 1/2000. Of which, Zone 3 has a planning land area of ​​about 1,434.5 hectares. Zone 7 is more than 560 hectares.

Soc Son district is located in the planning of the northern city of Hanoi. According to the project to adjust the general planning of the capital until 2045, with a vision to 2065, the northern city is expected to include Dong Anh, Me Linh, and Soc Son districts, with a total area of ​​about 633 km2. Of which, nearly 61% is urban construction land (385 km2), the rest is suburban area with 45 wards and 24 communes.
