More than 2,000 people in Than Uyen district (Lai Chau province) joined hands to perform the xoe dance to celebrate National Day, September 2. This activity attracted a large number of people and tourists.

For a long time, Independence Day has become a festival, a day for people in the Lai Chau highlands to meet, exchange and reunite. This is also an opportunity to attract tourists to participate in the unique activities of the people.

On the evening of September 1, the People's Committee of Than Uyen district organized a festival to celebrate Independence Day with many special activities. Attending the program were Mr. Le Van Luong - Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Lo Van Huong - Secretary of Than Uyen District Party Committee and representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

According to the representative of the Organizing Committee, the annual Independence Day is a cultural and sports festival for ethnic groups in Than Uyen district and neighboring localities. The festival aims to honor the unique traditional values ​​of ethnic groups. This is also an opportunity for the district to promote and introduce tangible and intangible cultural values, resources and unique tourism products of Than Uyen to friends and visitors.

This year, Than Uyen district organized the largest Thai Xoe performance ever with over 2,000 participants, held at Than Uyen district stadium.

Every year, on the occasion of Independence Day, Than Uyen people together organize the Cultural and Sports Festival of ethnic groups in Than Uyen district, imbued with the solidarity of ethnic brothers.

Coming to the Independence Day and the Ethnic Culture Festival of Than Uyen district, people and tourists can also participate in folk games at the cultural space of the ethnic groups: Thai, Mong, Dao, Kho Mu; Visit the space displaying OCOP products, agricultural products and cultural products of 12 communes and towns in the district and neighboring districts.
