After merging the Department of Information and Communications with the Department of Science and Technology to form the Department of Science and Technology of Hai Duong, comrade Nguyen Cao Thang was appointed to the position of Director.

On the morning of February 20, Hai Duong province announced decisions on the organization of specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee and personnel work.

Comrade Nguyen Cao Thang, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Information and Communications was appointed to the position of Director of the Department of Science and Technology.

The deputy directors of the department are: Pham Van Manh, previously Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Nguyen Dinh Bo, Le Luong Thinh, Luu Xuan Lam (3 Deputy Directors of the Department of Science and Technology); Pham Huy Thang, Nguyen Minh Kha (2 Deputy Directors of the Department of Information and Communications).

Comrade Nguyen Van Nhat, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications, was appointed to the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

After the merger, the Department of Science and Technology will perform the state management function in the sectors and fields currently assigned to the Department of Information and Communications and the Department of Science and Technology. At the same time, some functions, tasks, and organizational structure will be transferred to other agencies.

Specifically, the functions, tasks, and organization of the state management apparatus for press and publishing will be transferred from the Department of Information and Communications to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The state management tasks for network information safety and security will be transferred from the Department of Information and Communications to the Provincial Police.

Transfer the variety testing function of the Center for Science and Technology Application and Variety Testing under the Department of Science and Technology to the Agricultural Extension Center under the Department of Agriculture and Environment.

Regarding the organizational structure, reduce 1 specialized department to 3 public service units; establish the Center for Science Application and Innovation under the Department of Science and Technology. The Department has 52 employees.
