Diving and weightlifting teams bring home 14 gold medals for Hai Duong

Participating in the National Club Swimming and Diving Championship in Phu Tho, coach Pham Dang Khoa's team had 14 athletes from the national team and the youth team of Hai Duong province. The team was assigned a target of 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 1 bronze medal. However, the Hai Duong divers competed excellently, winning a total of 17 medals, including 7 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 4 bronze medals, ranking fourth overall.

Coach Pham Dang Khoa said that among the athletes who won gold medals, swimmer Nguyen Thanh Toan is a remarkable new discovery. Although he has only been training for over a year, Thanh Toan has excellently won 2 gold medals in the U13 group, 200m, 400m fins, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal. The remaining gold medals belong to swimmer Vu Ngoc Diep, age group 16-18 (2 gold medals, 1 silver medal); Ha Phuong Anh, age group 14-15 (2 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 1 bronze medal); Nguyen Nam Khanh, age group 16-18 (1 gold medal, 1 silver medal).

At the National Club Weightlifting Championship held in Thanh Hoa, the Hai Duong weightlifting team led by coach Nguyen Thi Thiet, consisting of 12 athletes, was assigned the achievement target of 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 2 bronze medals.

Hai Duong athletes competed excellently, winning a total of 9 medals, including 7 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal. The main athletes included Tran Dinh Thang, 102 kg, winning 3 gold medals; Nguyen Trung Hieu, +109 also won 3 gold medals; Dinh Pham Thi Hong Nhung, 64 kg, won 1 gold medal, 1 bronze medal; Tran Thi Thuy Duong, 81 kg, won 1 silver medal.

Notably, the gold medal marked the return of weightlifter Dinh Pham Thi Hong Nhung after a period of time off to raise a young child. With this achievement, the Hai Duong weightlifting team ranked fourth overall.
