Real Madrid captain Nacho Fernandez has reportedly announced his departure from the Bernabeu, just days after knocking Man City out of the Champions League.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Nacho has informed Real Madrid of his decision to leave at the end of the season, as a free agent when the two sides' contracts expire next June.
Joining Real Madrid's youth academy in 2001, at the age of 11, Nacho made his B team debut in 2009, making 111 appearances and scoring 4 goals.
In 2011, the defender born in 1990 officially 'debuted' in the first team of Real Madrid and La Liga, when he started at left-back in the 6-3 away win at Valencia.
Since then, Nacho has made 355 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos, scoring 16 goals.
In the rematch against Man City at the Etihad last Wednesday night, the Real Madrid captain played as a centre-back alongside Rudiger and played the whole match.
After a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes (4-4 on aggregate after two matches), the Champions League semi-final ticket between Man City and Real Madrid was decided on a penalty shootout.
In La Liga, Real Madrid is currently at the top of the table, 8 points ahead of Barca, with the Clasico taking place tomorrow night, at 2am on April 22.
