The new headquarters of Nam Sach Town Health Station has been in use for more than a year now, but the medical staff here are still filled with joy at the spacious and clean workplace.

In previous years, the old station was in disrepair, with peeling walls and ceilings, dampness, and leaks that made everyone feel uneasy. People who came to visit were not reassured by the old infrastructure and machinery, and medical staff were also concerned because they could not meet the needs of medical examination and treatment.

With the attention of all levels, the new headquarters of Nam Sach Town Health Station was built on the old station's foundation with a budget of more than 7 billion VND. New medical equipment was also purchased and supplemented with more than 40 items serving the primary health care for the people.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, a population collaborator at the Nam Sach Town Health Station, said that in the past, the health station was cramped and there was not enough seating for monthly meetings. The entire station only had a few desktop computers, not enough to compile and update population information and data.

Since the new station was built and put into operation, everyone has been happy with better working conditions, and has loved and been more committed to their work.

Although it is a grassroots level, due to the specific administrative unit in the center of the district, the campus of Nam Sach Town Health Station is not large, only about 600 m.²However, the station has enough functional rooms such as reception, emergency and medical examination, injection, gynecological examination, traditional medicine... The station is also fully equipped with medical equipment for primary health care such as ultrasound machine, hematology test machine, urine biochemistry test machine, oxygen tank... The station's medical waste and wastewater are also treated to ensure compliance with standards.

Recently, when Nam Hong commune merged into Nam Sach town, the number of staff at the station increased to 11 people. The station has fully trained doctors and nurses, so professional activities are also more convenient.

For a long time, Nam Sach Town Medical Station has become a trusted address in people's health care due to the dedication, enthusiasm and skills of the medical team.

According to Ms. Vuong Thi Thuy, Deputy Head of the Nam Sach Town Health Station, due to its central location, close to the District Health Center and private clinics, people have many options for medical examination and treatment. However, the town health station is still trusted by many people and they come for regular check-ups.

Every day, the station receives and examines 30-40 people, with peak days reaching 50-60 people. Therefore, every year, the station achieves and exceeds its plan for medical examination and treatment.

Since early December 2024, when Nam Hong Commune Health Station merged into Nam Sach Town Health Station, despite the long distance, many former Nam Hong residents still come to the station for health check-ups. "Having the people's trust gives us more motivation to try harder," Ms. Thuy said excitedly.

For many years, medical examination and treatment has been a prominent activity of the Nam Sach Town Health Station. In addition to the health care rate for the elderly always reaching over 90%, the station is also a typical example in screening, monitoring, and treating diabetes and hypertension at the facility.

Nearly 100 people with high blood pressure and diabetes treated at the station are given attentive and dedicated care. Ms. Bui Thi An, 70 years old, from Nam Sach town, said: “Every month, I go to the town's health station for a health check-up and to monitor my high blood pressure. The medical staff here are dedicated and thoughtful. In addition to taking care of my health, they always encourage, ask about, and share with the patients. Therefore, when I receive medical examination and treatment here, I feel secure.”

Nam Sach Town Health Station is an active and proactive unit in implementing the expanded immunization program and taking care of maternal and child health. The targets for immunization, reproductive health, and prevention of malnutrition for children all exceeded the set plan.

Currently, Nam Sach Town Health Station is striving to implement 10 new national criteria on health by 2030. In particular, the station has determined to implement synchronous digital transformation and establish electronic medical examination and treatment books to improve the quality of health care services for the people.

According to the representative of Hai Duong Department of Health, Nam Sach Town Health Station is a typical grassroots health unit in the province. In addition to the spacious facilities, the expertise and professionalism of the medical staff at the station fully meets the requirements of primary health care and protection of the people and reduces pressure on the upper level.

In the coming time, the province will continue to invest in infrastructure for medical stations. This will be the driving force to improve the efficiency of grassroots medical activities in the province.
