Proposal to spend more than 449 billion VND to give gifts to meritorious people on the occasion of Tet Giap Thin 2024

Today, November 29, Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung signed Document No. 1255/TTr-TTg to submit to the President on giving gifts to people with revolutionary contributions on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024.

Accordingly, gifts for people with revolutionary contributions on the occasion of Lunar New Year have two levels: 600,000 VND and 300,000 VND.

The gift of 600,000 VND is given to people with revolutionary contributions, including: People who participated in revolutionary activities before January 1, 1945 and are receiving monthly preferential allowances; People who participated in revolutionary activities from January 1, 1945 to the August 1945 uprising and are receiving monthly preferential allowances; Vietnamese heroic mothers who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; Heroes of the People's Armed Forces and Labor Heroes during the resistance war who are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

The gift of 600,000 VND is also given to war invalids, people who enjoy policies such as war invalids, type B war invalids, sick soldiers with a body injury rate of 81% or more who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals with a body injury rate of 81% or more who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; people who have contributed to the revolution and are receiving monthly nursing allowances; relatives of martyrs who are receiving monthly nursing allowances; relatives of two or more martyrs who are receiving monthly nursing allowances.

The gift of 300,000 VND is for war invalids, people enjoying policies like war invalids, war invalids of type B, sick soldiers with a body injury rate of 80% or less who are receiving monthly preferential allowances, war invalids enjoying a regime of loss of working capacity.

Resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals with a body injury rate of 80% or less who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; revolutionary or resistance fighters who were captured and imprisoned by the enemy and are receiving monthly preferential allowances; people who have contributed to the revolution and are receiving monthly preferential allowances; representatives of martyrs' relatives; people who worship martyrs (in case the martyrs have no relatives) are the ones who will receive Tet gifts of 300,000 VND.

Every year, the President presents gifts to people with revolutionary contributions on the occasion of the nation's traditional New Year. On the occasion of the 2024 Lunar New Year, according to the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the total budget for giving Tet gifts is more than 449.4 billion VND. This budget has been arranged in the 2024 State budget plan.
