Eastern Taiwan (China) has just been hit by consecutive earthquakes, the strongest of which had a magnitude of 5.7.
The epicenter of the earthquakes was in Hualien County. Some of the quakes also briefly shook Taipei City. No damage has been reported so far.
Most recently, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), at 9:13 p.m. (local time), a magnitude 5.1 earthquake occurred in Hualien County. The epicenter was located at 23.67 degrees north latitude and 121.54 degrees east longitude with a focal depth of 10 km.
Hualien was hit hard by a magnitude 7.2 earthquake earlier this month that killed 14 people. Hundreds of aftershocks followed.
