On November 28, 8 delegations of Thanh Ha District People's Council met with voters in communes in the district to prepare for the 21st session of the 20th District People's Council, term 2021-2026.

Voters raised many opinions related to the fields of natural resources, environment, construction, and transportation. Voters were particularly interested in the issue of handling redundant headquarters after the merger of commune-level administrative units of the district.

Responding to this issue, the district People's Council delegates said that in the 2023-2025 period, Thanh Ha district will arrange 8 commune-level administrative units into 4 new units, reducing 4 communes. Specifically, Thanh Thuy commune will merge with Thanh Xa to form Thanh Tan commune, with headquarters located in the old Thanh Thuy commune. Vinh Lap commune will merge with Thanh Cuong to form Vinh Cuong commune, with headquarters in the old Thanh Cuong commune. Cam Che commune will merge with Viet Hong to form Cam Viet commune, with headquarters in the old Cam Che commune. Thanh Khe commune will merge with Thanh Ha town, with headquarters in Thanh Ha town.

Voters have opinions on many issues related to traffic, environment and handling of surplus headquarters after merger.

According to the plan, the old Thanh Khe commune office building will be converted to a kindergarten, the old Thanh Xa and Viet Hong commune offices will be converted to commune police offices, and the Vinh Lap commune office will be converted to a primary school.

While waiting for comments from competent authorities, in the immediate future after the merger, localities need to have plans to arrange suitable offices and facilities to basically meet working conditions for officials and civil servants.
