Binh Giang voters upset over prolonged pollution of Bac Hung Hai irrigation system

At the recent meeting with voters of the Provincial People's Council Delegation running for election in Binh Giang district and the District People's Council Delegates, people of Thuc Khang commune reported that the Bac Hung Hai irrigation system passing through Thuc Khang commune is seriously polluted, affecting daily life and agricultural production. Although voters have made many requests, it has not been resolved yet.

Responding to voters' opinions on this issue, Chairman of Binh Giang District People's Committee Truong Manh Long and Head of the District's Department of Natural Resources and Environment said that the pollution of the Cuu An River in the Bac Hung Hai irrigation system has been going on for many years. The source of waste related to Bac Hung Hai pollution flows from upstream, especially industrial parks and urban areas along the Bac Hung Hai route starting from Hanoi. Binh Giang is located at the end of the source so it is heavily affected. Voters have repeatedly reported on this issue. The issue of pollution in the Bac Hung Hai irrigation system has also been discussed by the National Assembly.

Currently, the Central Government has directed the interdisciplinary delegation to coordinate with the police force, relevant provinces and districts to clarify the cause and find solutions to overcome the pollution in the Bac Hung Hai system. However, this handling will take time, through many provincial and district levels. The district will continue to report to the competent authorities, hoping that voters will be patient, listen, and trust the authorities at all levels.

At the meeting with voters, some opinions stated: After storm No. 3, the Bac Hung Hai irrigation canal system through Thuc Khang commune had many landslides and weak points and it was recommended to promptly fix these weak points. At some points, black smoke appeared from the waste treatment plant in Ke Sat town. There is still illegal dumping of waste on many traffic routes. The situation of telecommunication poles and wires that have not been used for a long time but have not been relocated, causing danger to traffic participants...

Representatives of the delegation, leaders of the People's Committee of Binh Giang district, and specialized departments and offices answered and clarified each content, issue, and suggestion of voters. For contents beyond the authority, the delegation received, summarized, and reported to competent authorities for consideration and resolution.
