Cong Phuong joined Yokohama FC on a free transfer after his contract with HAGL expired. The contract between the Nghe An striker and the Japanese team is for 2 years. This is the 4th time in his career that Cong Phuong has played abroad. Previously, this striker went abroad to play for Mito HollyHock (2016), Incheon United (2019) and Sint-Truidense (2019).
According to the schedule, Yokohama FC will start the opening round of J.League 1 season 2023 by hosting Nagoya at home stadium Spring Mitsuzawa on February 18.
