Lubricate lock cores, door and cabinet hinges

A jammed lock or rusted key makes it difficult to open the door. Just brush a little bit of used oil on the key, insert it into the lock and turn it left and right. Not only does this method help the door open more smoothly, it also protects against jamming the lock.

Similarly, doors often squeak after a period of use due to corrosion on the hinges. At this point, you can apply waste oil to the hinges and rub it in. This will not only solve the problem of squeaking doors but also prevent the appearance of rust.

Remove rust from the pull surface

Pulls can rust and get stuck after being used for a while. At this time, you can apply used oil from the hood to the pulls, both to maintain the pulls and to prevent rust.

After applying the waste oil, let it sit for a few minutes before cutting and wiping it off.

Kill flies, mosquitoes, rats, cockroaches

Because it has been left for a long time, the waste oil in the range hood has very sticky and viscous properties. If insects such as flies, mosquitoes, cockroaches, ants... get in, it will be difficult to escape.

Therefore, we can absolutely use waste oil to catch flies and mosquitoes or kill rats and cockroaches. This method is safe, environmentally friendly and does not harm human health.

The simple way is to put rice in waste oil, add a little detergent, stir well, scoop out the rice and place it where rats and cockroaches often go.

Cockroaches and rats are attracted to these smells, but when eaten, the chemicals in the detergent can kill them. When cockroaches and rats eat processed rice, the stickiness of the waste oil will help them to be easily killed.

Insect repellent is also a use of waste oil in the range hood. Pour a tablespoon of white sugar into the waste oil container. The sweetness of the sugar and the aroma of the oil will attract insects.

Use a disposable spoon to stir until the sugar dissolves to make the solution thicker, then place the mixture in places where flies, mosquitoes, cockroaches, ants, etc. often appear. When lured, they will not be able to escape from the bowl of oil and will die in it.

Make oil lamps

Using waste oil from the range hood, you can make it into an oil lamp.

First, you need to find a suitable container and pour the waste oil into it. Take a cotton string, dip it thoroughly in the waste oil and gently pull it up through the perforated lid, use a lighter to light it to complete an oil lamp.
