This is an activity towards the 20th anniversary of Hai Duong province and Suwon city signing a cooperation document.
On the afternoon of November 13, leaders of the Hai Duong Provincial Federation of Labor worked with leaders of the Suwon City Federation of Labor Unions (Korea). The two units exchanged and shared experiences in union activities, improving the capacity of union officials and working equipment.
The two sides agreed to create all conditions for workers of Suwon City and Hai Duong Province to work, ensuring the legitimate rights of workers at the workplace. Support each other in establishing missing trade union institutions.
Previously, in 2013, the Suwon Provincial Federation of Labor (now Suwon City) and the Hai Duong Provincial Federation of Labor signed a memorandum of understanding. The two sides agreed to establish bilateral relations to enhance solidarity, friendship, exchange, cooperation and enhance mutual understanding between workers and union members of the two organizations. Since signing the memorandum of understanding, the Suwon City Labor Union has visited and worked with the Hai Duong Provincial Labor Union four times.
According to the report of the Provincial Labor Federation, in Hai Duong there are 126 Korean investment projects with a total capital of 1,462 million USD, ranking first among 27 countries and territories investing in Hai Duong. The projects have attracted more than 70,000 workers to work in the fields of garment, toy assembly, component assembly, pins, nails, production of electronic components, and motor vehicle spare parts. In Suwon City, there are currently more than 3,000 Vietnamese people living, working and studying, including many from Hai Duong.
Suwon City and Hai Duong Province signed a cooperation document on July 13, 2004, which has been nearly 20 years. Over the years, the two sides have had many trade promotion and cultural exchange activities. The two localities have had positive results in the field of investment attraction, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the province.
