Ho Chi Minh City police prosecuted two members of the terrorist organization "Provisional National Government of Vietnam" for activities aimed at overthrowing the people's government.
On September 20, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department's Staff Department, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department's Security Investigation Agency issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and detain Nguyen Thi Huong (born in 1968, residing in Go Vap District) and Tran Van Linh (born in 1957, residing in Go Vap District) for the crime of activities aimed at overthrowing the people's government under Article 109 of the 2015 Penal Code. These decisions and orders were approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy.
Accordingly, on August 29, Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with the Department of Internal Security of the Ministry of Public Security to catch Nguyen Thi Huong red-handed while preparing leaflets to incite marches and disrupt security and order on the occasion of National Day, September 2, with the aim of overthrowing the Socialist Republic of Vietnam under the direction of the terrorist organization "Provisional National Government of Vietnam" (led by Dao Minh Quan in the US).
During an emergency search of Nguyen Thi Huong's residence, police seized 1,000 leaflets and many devices related to illegal activities such as computers, color printers, and telephones.
Expanding the investigation, Ho Chi Minh City Police summoned and worked with Tran Van Linh, an accomplice of Nguyen Thi Huong. Linh was responsible for surveying crowded places in Ho Chi Minh City to prepare to post and distribute leaflets under the direction of the terrorist organization.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police are continuing to consolidate evidence, strictly handle the behavior of the subjects, and at the same time expand the investigation to clarify and handle other related people according to the law.
Ho Chi Minh City police advise people to be vigilant and not to listen to the enticements and enticements of members of the terrorist organization "Provisional National Government of Vietnam", and to immediately report to the police if they discover information related to this organization.
With this outstanding achievement, on September 15, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security sent a letter of commendation and awarded prizes to the Department of Internal Security, the Department of Investigation Security and the Go Vap District Police - the units directly responsible for the achievement. The leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and People's Committee also presented special awards to the security forces of the city's police.
The Ministry of Public Security has identified the “Provisional National Government of Vietnam” as a terrorist organization, therefore, Ho Chi Minh City Police Department recommends that people raise their vigilance, do not believe, do not listen to the enticements, promises, and enticements of the subjects in the terrorist organization “Provisional National Government of Vietnam”; when discovering personal information or organizations related to this organization, please immediately report to the nearest police agency for prevention and handling.
