Not only Vietnamese fans but also many international fans regretted when U20 Vietnam was eliminated.

A truly strong team needs to walk on its own two feet, not rely on unfair whistles. Hopefully no team will suffer from the referee like U20 Vietnam,” an account named Bran William commented on the homepage of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
U20 Vietnam said goodbye to the Asian tournament after losing to U20 Iran. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team earned 6 points after 2 wins and 1 loss, equal to the top 2 teams but inferior in the head-to-head index. The head coach of U20 Vietnam used the word "cruel" to describe the team's stoppage.
