Special live art program about female general Nguyen Thi Dinh

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the death of Female General Nguyen Thi Dinh (August 26, 1992 - August 26, 2022), on the evening of August 20, Ben Tre province organized a special live theater art program "Is that person still there" at Nguyen Thi Dinh Memorial Site (Luong Hoa commune, Giong Trom).

The program has the participation of many art troupes such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema, Ho Chi Minh City Dance College, Ben Tre Cai Luong Art Troupe, people of Luong Hoa commune, Giong Trom district, Ben Tre Province Cultural - Cinema Center.

During the 120 minutes, the program recreates important events and achievements in the revolutionary life of our country's first female general with the following scenes: Homeland, love, when Ba Dinh's husband was captured by the enemy, Ba Dinh's mother and daughter visited her husband in prison; Ba Dinh built a revolutionary movement in her hometown, Ba Dinh was captured by the enemy; Independence Day September 2, 1945; Ba Dinh met Uncle Ho in 1946, Dong Khoi movement in 1960...

At the same time, the program recreates the brutality of the war that our people experienced; the spirit of solidarity between our army and people, depicting the indomitability, loyalty, bravery and intelligence of revolutionary soldiers; including the image of female general Nguyen Thi Dinh.

Female General Nguyen Thi Dinh was born on March 15, 1920, in Luong Hoa commune, Giong Trom district, Ben Tre. She passed away on August 26, 1992 (at the age of 72), in Ho Chi Minh City.

She was the former Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam - a female general of the Ho Chi Minh era, a hero of the people's armed forces, an outstanding daughter of the heroic Ben Tre Dong Khoi homeland, and the people affectionately called her Co Ba Dinh.

She was awarded many noble awards by the Party and State such as: Ho Chi Minh Medal, Lenin International Peace Prize, Hero of the People's Armed Forces,...

Speaking at the program, Provincial Party Secretary Le Duc Tho emphasized that the life and revolutionary career of Co Ba Dinh is a symbol of resilient, indomitable, loyal and responsible Vietnamese women.

Miss Ba Dinh always worked tirelessly, associated with important historical milestones of the nation, where Miss Ba Dinh affirmed the mettle and will of an intelligent, resourceful, brave woman, not afraid of sacrifice and hardship, making glorious contributions to the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.

With 72 years of age, 56 years of steadfast revolutionary activities, lifelong struggle for the cause of national liberation, women's liberation; with modesty and kindness, Ms. Ba Dinh is one of the country's typical women, closely attached to the people, a prestigious leader, respected by the people, soldiers and women of Vietnam, and international friends; a shining example, passing on good values ​​to today's and future generations.
