The highlight of New Year’s Eve was a record-breaking fireworks display that took place at midnight, followed by smaller fireworks displays every hour from 6pm. At the same time, many other iconic locations across Abu Dhabi, such as Yas Island and the Corniche, also hosted equally dazzling fireworks displays, bringing a festive atmosphere to the entire city.

Videos of the event flooded Instagram, capturing the moment the Abu Dhabi sky was lit up with fireworks and drone art, once again affirming Abu Dhabi’s commitment to surpassing previous achievements.

In 2023, the Sheikh Zayed Festival made its mark with a 40-minute fireworks display that set three Guinness World Records for duration, form and number of displays. Last year, the festival also made a splash by creating the world’s largest aerial logo using more than 5,000 drones.

This year, Yas Island continues to impress with fireworks displays at 9pm and midnight, providing stunning views from locations such as Samaliyah Island, Yas Bay Waterfront, Yas Marina, and Yas Beach.

Meanwhile, the Corniche area attracts residents and visitors with its brilliant fireworks display, best viewed from locations such as Corniche Beach, Lulu Island and the MOTN Festival.

Not only in the capital, many other areas were also filled with colorful fireworks. Madinat Zayed Public Park, Ghayathi, Al Mughira Beach, Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, and Liwa Festival all held brilliant performances, contributing to the joyful atmosphere to welcome the new year.

In addition to fireworks, the Sheikh Zayed Festival also offers many other exciting activities such as laser shows, concerts, cultural performances, and family entertainment.

Starting from November 1, 2024, this festival not only honors the culture and heritage of the UAE people but also attracts international tourists, lasting until February 28, 2025.

The New Year celebrations in Abu Dhabi are not just an entertainment event but also an opportunity to affirm the position of the UAE capital as a leading cultural and creative center in the world. With new records set, 2025 promises to continue to be a year of great expectations for this country.
