Mr. Pham Quang Khanh donated blood at the "Pink Spring Festival" program organized by the Hai Duong City Red Cross Society on February 4.

At the "Pink Spring Festival" program organized by the Hai Duong City Red Cross Society, I was very impressed with Pham Quang Khanh (born in 2000) with his bright smile.

Mr. Khanh is a typical example in the voluntary blood donation movement. This blood donation at the "Pink Spring Festival" program is the 14th time he has donated blood.

"In 2019, when I was a student at Hanoi College of Industry and Commerce, the school's Youth Union promoted voluntary blood donation. After learning more, I learned that voluntary blood donation is a meaningful and humane act for patients, and at the same time beneficial to the health of the donor. I decided to join the Youth Association for Blood Donation 01/12 under the Hanoi Youth Association for Blood Donation Volunteers", said Mr. Khanh.

Since then, whenever the Student Union or the branch organized a blood donation program, he participated, and there were also some times when he donated blood unexpectedly when there was a need from hospitals or patients' families. "I often receive unexpected calls during the day, even at night, calling for blood donations. I remember one time I went home for a weekend vacation. I got home after 6 o'clock, and just after finishing dinner, I received news that a patient was in the emergency room at the Provincial General Hospital and needed blood urgently. So I drove away again. After donating blood, I returned home around 12 o'clock at night. Although I was a bit tired, I was happy because my drops of blood had contributed to saving a patient's life," Khanh shared.

In addition, Mr. Khanh also regularly participates in supporting humanitarian blood donation programs. He has participated in supporting about 20 blood donation programs in Hai Duong, Hanoi, Bac Ninh and Nam Dinh.

In June 2023, after 1 year of working as an intern in Japan, when returning home, Mr. Khanh continued his journey of donating blood and volunteering to support programs. Most recently, on February 25, he participated in supporting the humanitarian blood donation program held at Hai Duong Central College of Pharmacy.

"Participating in humanitarian blood donation programs not only gives me the opportunity to help and share with patients who are having difficulty with blood, but also gives me the opportunity to make friends and interact with people who share the same goals in life, and create more beautiful and memorable memories in my youth. If my health allows, I will continue to donate blood and volunteer," Khanh shared.
