Gallo Lungo (or Gallos) is known as one of the strangely shaped islands in the world.
Gallo Lungo (or Gallos) is an island in Italy, between Capri and Positano. Named after a rooster, the shape of the island is very similar to a giant dolphin. One end of the island has a wide, flat rock that looks like a fish's tail. The other end has a protruding point similar to a dolphin's nose, slightly curved in the middle. This shape has put the name Gallo on the list of the most strangely shaped islands in the world.
Legend has it that the island is inhabited by birds with the heads of humans and the bodies of birds, called “galls”. The galls are half woman and half bird. Their enchanting songs would lure sailors to sail towards the island, only to be drowned by the reef. This is also the origin of the name Gallos, which means half bird, and means “rooster” in Italian.
Visitors can come here to cool off, swim and snorkel around the island, but only tourists on the island can dock, see the whole view of this place and enjoy the wonderful resort services in the island's villas.
On the island, in addition to a villa with a beautiful blue ocean space, there is also an ancient vineyard surrounding it, forming a large terraced garden. To ensure privacy from eating, resting to entertainment activities, the island only allows a maximum of 12 guests to rent at a time. This makes traveling to Gallos Island even more unique.
The best time to visit Gallo Lungo is April, May or October, November when there are fewer tourists, the weather is cool, the waves are calm, the sea is calm, suitable for relaxation and outdoor activities.
Despite its fame, the island has very few visitors due to its high rent. It is said that only the world's richest people can afford to stay here.
